What services wont work on an unlocked iphone?
Q. I have T-mobile and want an iphone, what services will and will not work when I use it on my T-mobile network? I heard that the internet wont work. Any truth to this? That feature hasn't been unlocked supposedly.

A. Pretty much everything will work with the T-Mobile network. The only thing you won't get is the visual voicemail. That's it!! Visual voicemail isn't important...it'd be nice to have, but it's just a luxury.

What does social services look for when an adoption is taking place?
Q. When looking to adopt social services or some kind of agency comes to your house and does an inspection. What do they look for? What kinds of questions do they ask? I am looking to adopt my step children and would like to be as prepared as possible. Any websites would also be appreciated. Thanks! What about how many kids per bedroom? I have another baby on the way and I have heard about too many of one sex in the same room is not good.

A. They look for any hazards in the home, check the upstairs to make sure there is a fire escape plan in place. Check your background, smoke alarms, CO2in place, size of your home, where you are working, what are your plans in case of an emergency[and we all have them] how many bedrooms, how many children etc etc. In regular foster care and adoption they measure your bedrooms to determine how many children can sleep in each room.[I've measured a few]Example--a bedroom 14 by 14 can sleep five---with 6 children in the home max. any questions just send me an e-mail.

How is custody determined when social services takes the kids?
Q. A woman I know of is most likely going to lose her kids due to abuse. Kentucky social services is talking about giving "indefinate" custody to one of the kids' (divorced) grandparents or other relatives like an aunt or uncle. How will they determine who will get the children? Living conditions, location (as in how close to the mother), financial stability, etc? Can an unmarried, heterosexual, financially stable couple ask for custody? How much will small-town politics help someone who doesn't deserve the kids gain custody? If custody is granted to someone and they move in with the mother, will social services re-take the kids? **Anything** you can tell me related to the above would be appreciated, especially if you can provide links.

A. The best interests doctrine will always come into play. Before the custodial rights can be permanently terminated, the courts have to get involved. At that time, the judge, in conjunction with Protective Services, will evaluate the parents -- and determine if, in fact, abuse did occur. . . what type and how severe that abuse was . . . as well as who the perpetrator was.
