The boundaries of Oceania are defined in a number of ways. Most definitions recognize parts of Australasia such as Australia, New Zealand, and New Guinea, and all or part of the Malay Archipelago as being parts of Oceania. But the definitions below give me a slightly different sense of them. Mostly that "Australasia" is a slightly narrower definition/area, focusing mostly on Australia and the islands closest to it. Calling it Australasia acknowledges the fact that Australia is the largest landmass of the Oceania region. There is a slight difference in looking at the two definitions I am referencing for you below. The Australasia one seems to definitely focus on the Australia part of things.
